Are the calories of whole wheat pasta lower than regular pasta?
Slightly. Let's say that whole-wheat pasta, having some more fiber than traditional semolina pasta, has a somewhat lower caloric value than traditional pasta, while being slightly fattier and higher in protein.
However, the differences are really minimal in that respect.
This obviously does not mean that it can be abused, however, for the same number of calories ingested, one can eat slightly more whole-wheat pasta than traditional white pasta.
